1. What has happened to Terry?
He has actually been rather strong as of late. He was great with George.

14. Thats good news, better
late than never. Could he be finally getting the hint that we are in a war in which the extreme right fired the first shot three years ago.

7. This is the Terry that I've always seen
Thats why it baffled me to see how negatively he was received on DU. When he ran against Maynard Jackson (I think) he went on BET and he won the debate fair and square. I always thought he would be a good presidential candidate as well.

8. the DNC must be satisfied with the way the nomination is going
excerpt from an email I sent Terry in November 2002:

subject: DNC being "polled" in Nov. 22 RE running Al Gore in 2004

Why did they participate?

Why is this coming out NOW when Al is making fresh appearances???

The newspaper contacted 312 of 388 DNC members. Why not the other 76?

etc.

Poll: Gore Should Not Run Again Party Insiders Say

November 17, 2002 02:24 PM ET

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A poll of members of the Democratic Party's governing body showed on Sunday that nearly half think Al Gore should forgo another run for the U.S. presidency in 2004.

The Los Angeles Times poll of members of the Democratic National Committee showed significant support for a run by Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts as well as a dark-horse bids by Vermont Gov. Howard Dean and Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina.

2. I LOVED it!
Steph tried to get McAuliffe to talk about Gillespie's attack on Kerry's past votes and ALL McAuliffe talked about was *'s missing Alabama National Guard service. I wish I could watch it again.

13. my worry
(not a political endorsement)

we've all heard about Dean's anger -- let me repeat myself for the umteenth time -- Dean didn't create the anger, it was already there -- he just managed to give a voice to that anger, and in doing so forced the other candidates to follow a similar tact

and from the things I've heard on the radio/tv/supermarket checkout lines -- people are angry like I've never seen before. A friend of mine is a poli-sci professor and he commented that that he has never seen this level of anger since Nixon-Watergate

my worry is if/when Dean drops out or after the nominee is officially named the Democratic candidate will revert to being 'bush-lite'

just my opinion - but to win the presidentcy - the nominee has to wage a hard-hitting battle, they can't turn into gelded jellyfish
