Business and social pressure to toe the Republican line
I know someone who is in sales in a male-dominated business in a Southern state. He says everybody assumes he is a Republican and if he opened his mouth and said his real political opinions, he would actually end up being ostracized by many clients and business associates. So he just keeps quiet.

He is an independent-type voter who voted Democrat in 2000 and also will in 2004. He is not very political because he is busy trying to hold onto his job. He thinks it is depressing that Bush would win in 2004, but he thinks it is inevitable because of what he hears everyday. I think this is just "band-wagon" propaganda baloney that the media is fooling people with.

I would bet that there are people all over the place in this country who are in a similar situation. The Republicans do not accept that anyone is allowed to have a different opinion than they do. What a bunch of intolerant jerks. I don't think I would be able to "keep my mouth shut" as he says he does, but I can understand the pressure when you are trying to hold onto a job in this economy. What a mess this country is in.

1. I know a sheriff who switched parties to be re-elected
He's still a Dem at heart, but he had to become a repuke to stay in office in Central IL.
Sad.

4. Well, hopefully he votes Dem.
Republicans are simply thugs, through and through. They can rationalize it any way they want to, but their behavior says it all.

2. That's nothing
I know a company that insists that all its executives and vendors donate to Republican candidates and attend fund raisers.
