1. can you keep us posted?
I can't bear to watch Russert -- he's such a Repuke operative masquerading as a journalist.

2. I dislike Russert too, but this was a worthwhile hour
No yelling or upstaging. It's pure politics, discussed intelligently.

Replay at 1am ET.

3. They kept marveling at the anger of NH dems in exit polls
This means that GWB is in some trouble. Dems are committed to defeat Dumbya.

7. Further proof of what a shitty job these so-called "journalists" have
been doing. If they spent more time actually digging into stories, and not just puking out the party line and White House talking points they're fed on an all-too-regular basis, they'd have already known this.

Reminds me of the blatant bewilderment of Aaron Brown, the eve of the big world-wide anti-war rallies a year ago. He even admitted on the air that - maybe this was building all along and we (the media) just didn't see it.

JEEZ!

Jerks.

If they pulled their heads out of their asses, or out of the republi-CON spider-holes, they wouldn't have been caught with their pants down. The anger's been there, since Selection 2000 for all to see. They just refused to look.

5. No matter what Buchanan has said in the past..
..I really like the guy. He's principled, and he doesn't ride Republican nutsack like everyone else seems to. I like him a lot more than McCain even.

8. Buchanan is a paleo-conservative
He is patriotic about America beyond any partisan loyalties and he's very much on the side of blue collar workers. Buchanan cares more for his country than for corporate donors, which is why the national Republican party hates him.

9. Buchanan
They guy's message is consistent but don't forget his gay-baiting culture war speech at the 1992 Repub Convention that almost singlehandedly helped Clinton win. He's a culture war baiter, and his main advantage over Bush is that he's honest about who he is. I'm not sure that I could ever vote for him even against Bush. Read the speech again:

Pat is very much right about the neocons and the wrongness of the Iraq War (I remember thinking over the last year that "Buchanan can't be in favor this, gee I wonder why he's not on the air at all these days?"), and there are some very good articles in his American Conservative mag.
