Cheney/Scalia Problem NOW ? What about during the 2000 selection?
Something just dawned on me today...

OK, Cheney and Scalia went hunting together for a week before big Dick's upcoming case before the supreme court.

Scalia and Cheney basically counter with, just because they are "long time friends" that doesn't mean this will be a biased thing yada yada

If Cheney and Scalia were "long time friends" then why the HELL didn't any of these legal groups raise this question when Scalia stopped the Florida recount for bush/cheney?

Scalia stopped the recount and his "long time friend" was the subject of the case?

But THAT wasn't a conflict of interest?

Now that these jerks have admitted publically to being "long time friends" I cannot believe there hasn't been a bigger deal made of this.

3. Here's a reference from the Star Telegram
http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/news/nation/7734571.htm

Although Scalia and Cheney are avid hunters and longtime friends, several experts in legal ethics questioned the timing of their trip and said it raises doubts about Scalia's ability to judge the case impartially.

There are a ton of articles about this and this is just one.

For more reading go to google news and type in cheney scalia hunting trip.

4. Scalia should have recused himself
in Bush v. Gore.

And he should resign now for being a Miserable Failure.

7. I don't recall EVER hearing in 2000
That Cheney and Scalia were good buddies?

I recall hearing that bush had appointed him but the Cheney/ Scalia friendship I don't think was mentioned was it?

9. The media failed us utterly
They put great pressure on our institutions to hurry up and finish the recount. Every day it was "this must be finished in three days! The people will not tolerate a protracted recount!" George Stephanopolous stated very clearly I remember that it must be resolved by Wednesday. Wednesday came and went and he was still saying the people will not tolerate but a few more days of this.

Instead, they should have been reporting on the massive violations of civil rights that went on in Florida and on the conspiricies possible with the cozy relationships between Cheney/Scalia and the Republicans in Florida.

We suffered a right-wing coup and it was never reported.
