Atlanta Superintendent trying to eliminate evolution from curriculum?
I wish violence were an answer.

3. Heard it on CNN while I was lying down earlier...
Jimmy Carter was allegedly upset that a superintendent was planning to have evolution replaced with "biological change over time" in some text books, claiming (rightfully so) that doing so would embarrass Georgia. (As if the state's undemocratic political process doesn't do that enough already.)

4. It's not the Atlanta superintendent -- it's Georgia's!
The superintendent for the entire doggone state of Georgia is behind this mockery!

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=519&ncid=718&e=10&u=/ap/20040130/ap_on_re_us/striking_evolution

The state's school superintendent has proposed striking the word evolution from Georgia's science curriculum and replacing it with the phrase "biological changes over time." ...

Cox, a Republican elected to the post in 2002, repeatedly referred to evolution as a "buzzword" Thursday and said the ban was proposed, in part, to alleviate pressure on teachers in socially conservative areas where parents object to its teaching.

Well now, who'd've ever thought this dreck might be coming from a Repuke? </sarcasm>

Remember, Atlanta is NOT Georgia. Atlanta is not responsible for Sonny Perdue (R-Confederate Flag Waver), Saxby Chambliss (R-Chickenhawk), or for that matter, runny grits or Claxton fruitcakes. :-)
