3. I've long felt that without the religious right

the true Republican base is maybe 5 percent of the population, and maybe another 5 percent can realistically aspire to benefit from their policies. But anyone else is just fooling themselves. They wanna be rich, and they wanna be morally superior. Neither will happen. The religious right will always have the right to worship by sending money to TV Elmer Gantry's, and the rest of us want nothing to do with it. The rest of us do want a fair economic policy.
