1. Excellent point!
They could always say that it was the UN. You know, the agency the administration tried to ridicule as worthless!

Either way, they would be screwed. They hate both Clinton and the UN.

5. Read this article and see if you can detect the SPIN
This actualy confirms what you are saying but it is not put that way. Okay I will save you some time it is in the first two paragraphs.

U.S. weapons inspectors in Iraq found new evidence that Saddam Hussein's regime quietly destroyed some stockpiles of biological and chemical weapons in the mid-1990s, former chief inspector David Kay said yesterday.

The discovery means that inspectors have not only failed to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq but also have found exculpatory information -- contemporaneous documents and confirmations from interviews with Iraqis -- demonstrating that Hussein did make efforts to disarm well before President Bush began making the case for war.

6. And
logical thinking people might suppose that if saddam had lots of chemicals he would have still been gassing his people, which we were told over and over and over, that he had been doing. Now, the fact that the gassing actually took place a decade or so ago, and the timeline seems to have been downplayed substantially, would lead me to believe he had no real imminent capability to use them. Pretty big disconnect to me - you cannot have it both ways. But then why use logic when you can use the fear factor. Hellfire and damnation fear is how the ruling "church" elite kept the peons in line for centuries - and it continues.
