White House Wants 9/11 Inquiry "wrapped up" by May
to avoid any shadow on the election. This was discussed on this morning's news.

Let me get this straight - the largest attack in US history, Chimpy keeps on invoking the spirit of 9/11 ad nauseum - the reason we are now the world's bully

And the White House wants it "wrapped up"?

Also, the Betty Ohm (sorry if I spelled the last name incorrectly) transcript that has been playing indicates that she called in 26 minutes prior to the Tower 1 crash from AA 11 to report the highjacking.

Once again I ask the dumb question: Why weren't fighter planes scrambled and
why weren't fighter jets sent to the other three planes that were now known to be off course?

Sorry to get back on the 9/11 bandwagon but no one seems to be paying any attention to this. Also the calm demeanor of Betty onboard this plane was amazing. She must have been quite a wonderful and brave person.

Bush keeps begging us to remember 9/11 - just make sure to wrap it up by May!!!

2. The reason why the jets weren't scrambled
was because the Air Force base (McGuire) that would have responded had been ordered to stand down.

Who gave that order, and where did it originate from is a million dollar question that will never be asked.

3. People in Hell want ice water too...
I'm reminded of a line Hans said in Die Hard...

McClaine: "God Dammit Hans. You made your point! Let them pull back!"

Gruber: " Thank you Mr. Cowboy. I'll take that under advisement.
Hit it AGAIN!."

5. Maybe they would have been able to finish by May
If Bush* and his buddies hadn't been stonewalling them every step of the way. And if Bush had pushed for a real investigation from the beginning instead of fighting against it until it was inevitable. It's their own fucking fault!

I don't see how they can get away with this. If they try this Democrats should raise holy hell! They are not going to win this one.

7. Since they are taking this critical question of extension to the congress
during an election year, it would be political suicide to deny the committee the extra time they are asking for. I don't care what party you are affilitated with, the American people want to know what happened. That was a wise decision "if the pResident says no, just ask congress". Very smart indeed.

8. That's the way it looks to me too
I'm sorry but I don't see how they're going to squirm their way out of this one. Unless of course, the media decides it's not news and refuses to cover it. That's a real possibility.

9. thanks to the Betty Ong transcript
the 9/11 inquiry was all over the *network* evening news. including renewed statements that more could and should have been done to prevent the attacks.

the problem for * is not what will be found, it's what will NOT be found: any interest at the top of the government in investigating fundamentalist islamic terrorism.

as clearly pointed out in THE PRICE OF LOYALTY, the NSC did not even have al-Qaeda on the table. and we all know that investigation of any Saudis was shut down by the incoming bushies.

10. I predict that burying this under the rug by May will cause
Bush hayfever by November. Those 9/11 widows will have no choice but to go mainstream. I'd be very disappointed in Oprah if she doesn't put them on her show and keep this issue alive.

11. Aww he's just saying that because he knows
the investigation is bullshit anyway. They got nothing to investigate. It'll be a whitewash I guarantee you.
