All this talk about dumping cheney
puzzles me. I am 100% convinced that uncle dick is calling the shots and has in effect been the real president all along. Of course, bush is way too stupid and arrogant to even be remotely aware of any of this, which is why they keep him, but I can't see the neocons allowing cheney to be pushed out, he's running things just the way they want.

7. this would be a huge move for the repukes
though, bear in mind, cheney would still be running the store, from his new post as chief of staff or sec. of state or official janitor. regardless of his title, he's still running the show.

but for repukes to put a black woman on the ticket would be huge.

they would lose votes from the all-out bigots and sexists, but the vast majority of racist repukes (to clarify, not all repukes are racists) prefer to think that they're not really racist. so putting the occassional token thomas on the supreme court, e.g., helps them cling to racist policies while staying in denial as to the reality of their views and their party.

11. Fabulous Condi?
Condi "no one could have imagined terrorists would fly planes into buildings" Rice stepping in for Cheney? That will go over like a lead ballon.

2. Cheney has been calling all of the shots since he led the search for
the chimps VP and then thought he was the best person for the job!

We should have known!

3. Let W dump Cheney
Then you'd really see what an f-up Bush is.

And he'd piss off a huge chunk of the Repukes.

4. He's becoming too much of a liability...
scandal follows the guy around constantly. I don't believe for a second that Karl Rove and the Bush family will let Cheney ruin their boy's chance for a second term.

13. That's what I believe
but I just can't square that with the other proposition which I think is equally true: Cheney actually runs the operation.

So the dilema for Rove and Corp., is this:

How do you dump Cheney and still keep the organization running?

5. I always thought he was way too
presumptuous to declare that he would be on the PUKE ticket, then again presumptuous is really a mild word to bestow on this F*

6. Cheney would never give up free healthcare and SS protection
It is simply too dangerous for him to return to civilian corporate life.

8. I heard a rumor that John McCain was going to run with Bush
and that Cheney would pull out "due to health reasons". He can still run things. Just no heat.

John has been in NH stumping for Bush and has had some very nice things to say about him. He would be he perfect choice. It would defang him and it would bring the repug centrists and right leaning independents back into the fold.

12. That would never happen
Hopefully John McCain still remembers the treatment he recieved during the 2000 election, but then again Raygun chose Bush for VP and there was no love lost there.

9. They need someone for 2008
I don't think Cheney's heart can make it that long. What with all the war and stuff.
