1. Our anti-virus gateway has been going crazy today blocking everything.
Lots and lots of copies of this are making the rounds. ISPs really need to get more involved with virus-scanning.

2. I got hit by that last night.
Thankfully I never open attachments from people I don't know. This morning, I got sent about 6 more of the same type of emails.

Sure enough, when I scanned them with Norton, they were all viruses.

If you are stupid enough to open attachments from senders you don't know w/o scanning them first you deserve what you get.

8. People I know send viruses, too.
After all, if I'm in their address book, it might be becasue we know each other.

4. we are under FULL SEIGE now....
thousands upon thousands of these are FLOODING our firm

it started with individual email accounts but they have found ALL of our maillists now....

it is a GREAT day to be working the computer support hotline!!

(somebody have a nice scotch waiting)

6. I'm getting 50% loss rate on packets too/from our mail server...
...presumably as the virus propagates through all the MS computers on campus. We're taking a big network hit.

7. Had one try - the "undeliveralbe" one
deleted without opening - but probably wouldn't have hurt - use a Mac and Netscape mail.
