BBV: First election to be rerun due to failed systems - Mississippi
It appears that this may be the first election involving malfunctioning electronic voting machines that has been tossed out.

If anyone is intimately familliar with this one, please contact me as we are going to highlight this episode in our site to demonstrate why paperless e-voting is a bad idea that needs to be fixed immediately.

And for anyone that is not involved in this effort, it's really time to get it on and help. You know how DC is playing the game - take place, we are seeing more and more election failures.

Please get involved in the fight for HR2239 and S1980 today!

The full Mississippi State Senate voted to confirm the recommendations of the Senate Committee, so the results of the November 3, 2003 election in District 94 (conducted using AVS WinVote voting machines, the same variety as used in Fairfax County, VA) will be tossed out and a new election held on February 10.

Synopsis:

When the polls opened, voters arrived to find the electronic voting machines were down, and there were no paper ballots. By mid-morning, some machines were still down. Voters complained about waiting in long lines and of having to complete paper ballots without adequate privacy. At 8 p.m., voters will still standing in line.
absolutely everyone needs to be involved, including our Freeper lurkers, to get this solved. As the weeks go by, and more elections
