1. Who knows what MSNBC was thinking when they hired this guy.
It was obvious he was going to have a meltdown sooner or later.

2. Assholes..
What else can you say about a so-called legitimate news organization who would hire Weiner? They knew exactly what they were getting when they hired him. His views were clear from his radio program. They hoped to out-Faux, Faux and failed miserably with this move. It will be fun to see what these dumb-asses do next.

3. Yes! Donahue was doing quite well, despite the rumors
This is not free market/business. The reselection is coming closer, the big pretense is being enacted (that Bushco are normal people). So, Coulter, Weiner are discarded.

4. Yes, I believe so
Regardless of ratings, no one can say that kind of thing and get away with it. Regardless of ratings.

5. I respectfully disagree...
... if they cared about him saying those sorts of things they would not have hired him in the first place.

I believe they hired him for one reason and one reason only, and it is the only reason the "media" does anything any more, and that is money.

They thought they could get ratings/eyeballs with controversy. Controversy is harder and harder to come by on our shrill vacuous media.

When he failed to produce the eyeballs, they took the first opportunity to get rid of him.

I'll further say that at some point, some network/channel/whatever will realize there are eyeballs waiting to hear the anti-puke message. When that happens said media will get eyeballs and money trashing Bush* and the whole lot of them, *but* they will not do it for ideology, it's all about the Benjamins, period.
