Can America survive another four year of Bush?
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 02:10 AM by Cascadian
I honestly think it cannot. In fact, I will even bet that if Bush gets another four, the Republicans could get more seats in the Capitol, if the Democratic Party does not get their act together. The Democratic Party will become a token opposition party. They will force their right-wing agenda on us all more forcefully, all local and state governments will be completely bankrupt,we'll probably have another war with some country like Syria, and I would not be surprised if there is another terrorist attack during a second Bush term. If that happens, America as we know it will officially be dead.

Anybody else get that feeling?

John

1. Politics is like a pendulum.
It swung left for a while, now it is swinging right. It will swing back, don't worry. The people will get sick of them and it will swing back with a vengeance.

2. I've argued this before, and gotten slammed...
but I think a country that survived the early days of the republic, the Civil War, two World Wars, and a few depressions, including the Great Depression can survive this pissant President.

Will it be pleasant? No.

Will much harm be done? Yes.

Will we still be here in 2008? Yes.

27. You been takin' tips on writing posts from Rummy? :}
Just joking, but Rummy single handedly has gotten me to the point where I cringe at rhetorical questions, especially when immediately answered by their positer.

3. No, it'll be the death knell for an America we would recognise
Oh, outwardly she'd be America but well...her soul will be dead.

Course, I'm still recovering from the SOTU.

4. I'm wondering if it can survive the next ten months
It should be perfectly obvious to any terrorist that the Bushies don't have a clue. Wouldn't it make sense to attack the U.S. before the election, while the Chimp and his minions are busy fund-raising and photo-oping and planning to invade Mars?

6. After watching the SOTU tonight,
Bush sounds like he's trying to be just like a Democrat in some ways. Sounded like he has taken some of our candidates issues and adopted them into his proposals. But we all know he is all talk. Sometimes, I think the Democrat party has become more fiscally conscious than the new movement in the Republican party which is actually a good thing. I don't see how in the world he will cut the debt in half in 5 years with all the spending he is proposing and with being in combat continually and making the tax cuts permanent???? It's beyond me.

7. I have doubts about surviving the next 10 months of him...
His policies are falling apart... seems like he's got everything designed to stretch out until the election. (and then what???) I've said it before. I seriously wonder if he really wants to get re-elected.

most certainly be the death knell, for some of us at least.

10. Can a diabetic with a history of
heart disease and has to rely on oxygen tanks expect to survive if he keeps smoking two packs a day?

I don't even want to think what another four years would mean, let's focus on the positive.

The PATRIOT Act, the spectre of endless war, plummeting wages, job losses... we all know the litany. No one can support a family on one income. The whole system has turned into one big machine for syphoning off the country's wealth and handing it to the rich, via the "defense" industry.

Hell, this country didn't survive WW2, when you think about it.

Period. End of Story.

I thought Watergate was bad, but there were principled people on each side & they worked together.

I am just as worried about tom DeLay & his merry band as I am about Shrub.

He has succeed in surpassing Nixon, Reagan, and Bush Senior as the worst president ever!

25. To make it personal
can America survive 4 more years of Bush? Possibly but who knows if we can survive the debt that is being placed on our children every day. The real question to me can my almost 17 year old son survive 4 more years of Bush? However I also believe they will use the draft in the next cycle.

I don't think most people outside of DU,other Dem web or those who really research whats going on have a clue as to what a Bush win in 04 would bring in the next four years.

Usually you just get pissed off at those clowns and hope four years rolls by in a hurry, with this idiot for the first time in my 50 years I'm really frightened about what he'll shove through Congress in the next four years.
