Why do DUers hate Joe Lieberman?
Don't get me wrong, I can't stand the man.... What puzzles me is that he seems to be despised by just about everybody around here. How is it that he is even in the running?

1. He is to a large degree responsible for the election 2000 debacle
he also recommends "getting over it" which is an insult to all true patriots.

2. He has been dogged in his insistence that the Iraq war was justified
Most DUers disagree. Also, he is probably the most negative campaigner of all.

IMO, he whines.

4. He's the one who trashed the Biden-Lugar amendment

to the IRW Resolution. He co-sponsored a more hawkish bill.

He also wants to do away with the Capital Gains Tax, supporter of Faith Based Charities, pretty much agrees with the Bush foreign policy, pro-censorship, favors the death penalty "even for minors", voted yes to restrict class action lawsuits, and I am sure other DUers will come up with more stuff.

5. too many things wrong with him
http://www.blackcommentator.com/57/57_cover_clark.html

The Black, union and anti-war base of the Democratic Party has tagged the DLC’s candidate, Sen. Joe Lieberman, as the personification of betrayal, and he is finished.

He is pro-war, corporatist, anti-affirmative action and has just tried to call for a re-evaluation of women's reproductive rights.

6. He rolled over and played dead for Cheney in the VP debate
he didn't fight to win the election in 2000

He is far right wing in foreign policy.

Namely he pushes the political agenda right of center.
