Bush Will Sweat During the SOTU as War Hero, John Kerry Watches Him.
Edited on Mon Jan-19-04 11:14 PM by David Zephyr
What Karl Rove must have thought to be a very clever scheduling of tomorrow night's State of the Union address immediately after the Iowa caucus has backfired. And backfired "big time" as Dick Cheney would say.

Why?

Because a real American war hero will have every television camera squarely fixed on him as he enters the Congressional Chamber for the State of the Union Address. Think about this, my fellow DU'ers and the impact of the this upcoming and staggering visual: The juxtaposition of a decorated and wounded war veteran and bonafide hero, who has just soundly won his Party's first contest toward the nomination for the President of the United States, walking into the halls of Congress to hear a coward, an AWOL frat boy who likes to wear army gear, talk about a war that has gone badly.

George W. Bush will be more nervous than a prostitute in church tomorrow night knowing that Senator Kerry will be sitting there watching and weighing every word that this pretender utters.

And the Republicans thought they had pulled a fast one on the Democrats by having the SOTU right after the Iowa Contest. Ha!

Tomorrow won't be the President's night after all. It will be Senator John Kerry's.

I can hear the White House crowd howling clear out here in Los Angeles!

George Bush is going to have a really bad night's sleep tossing and turning knowing that a real war hero will be sitting before him.

Even Fox News' cameras will have to record Kerry's triumphant entrance to the SOTU.

What a turn of events!

1. The juxtaposition of a "war hero"..
..who voted for the war in Iraq. I'm not exactly moved by his qualifications on that front. If we put Republican-lite up as our candidate, we're dead.

3. Thanks David
although this will make Clark's job harder in NH I agree that this is not a good visual for *. I hope that none of the Dems clap or give the * a standing ovation.

6. And Thank You, Nashyra for Your Grace.
Clark is well served by supporters like you.

It will be impossible for the cameras to ignore tomorrow night.

This won't hurt Clark, but boy, will it hurt George Bush!

Thanks for weighing in positively. :hi:

4. This Is Not a "Primary" Thread. This Is About the SOTU Address.
I am a Dean supporter, so keep that in perspective.

John Kerry is not Republican lite.

I hope this thread stays to the President's address and the fact that Senator Kerry and Senator Edwards, both big winners, will be sitting there getting lots of television and national publicity.

2. I don't believe shrub's medication will allow him to sweat or worry
I can't prove it but I believe his handler's perfected his doseage level for any given event between January and March 2003.

5. They've probably sealed his pores
and have him off all liquids for 24 hours.

Gawd, wouldn't it be great to see him gushing all over the podium, wiping pools of sweat from his eyes with his sleeve..

7. Tee Hee.
GWB: Karl, what am I going to do? You didn't tell me that Kerry would win the Iowa caucus. You've got to change my speech.

Rove: Well, we'll certainly have to scrap the lines about your plastic turkey at the Airport in Baghdad.

Bush: I need a drink...and a pretzel.

Might explain the surprise outcome huh? Iowans are thinking "Would't it be right funny if we all voted for the soldier?" ;)

10. Since Bush doesn't read the papers he probably won't know.
Do you think his handlers will tell him? Remember this is a blind man in a room of deaf people - he probably is not even aware the caucus took place tonight. It is Rove that will probably need a handful of Ambiens tonight!!!
