Bush admits to working towards dictatorship
He seems to love his "hide in plain sight" faux pas (witness using the "Trifecta" line in a dozen or more speeches), but this recent one from Bush really raised my eyebrows:

"It's not a dictatorship in Washington, but I tried to make it one in that instance."

9. The freeps are
fascists and dictatorship worshippers themselves, so it wouldn't matter to them. In fact, they already think of Smirk as God and would see nothing at all wrong with him being a dictator, especially if it kept us horrible "libruls" in line.

3. I was aware of that earlier line
But I figured he was too smart to use it again. Oops, what am I saying, this is Bush.

4. Much the way Raygun used the same fresh joke over and over
The parallels not only to Nazism but Rayganism are truly frightening.

5. He also said "There ought to be limits to freedom"
I printed that juicy quote on bumper stickers for campaign 2000 to no avail.

8. At the same time he said that,
he also said "A dictatorship would be so much easier!" I try to tell this to everyone who even LOOKS like they might support the First Idiot.

23. For SURE
it's time for a Flash "montage!" *dipshit has CONSISTENTLY expressed "his" desire for a dictatorship. See this is what I don't get.

PNAC writes down and signs what they intend to do given their druthers, they stick this pathetic excuse for a *dauphin out in front chirping about how dictatorships are good as he's the dictator, the U.S. military is up to its eyeballs in a stinking, bloody mess, Americans are being devastated by fiscal policy, right, left and center and folks are arguing about the earth being 5,000 years old or what woulda, coulda or shoulda.

What happens NOW is the *dauphin with dictatorial designs be exposed as the worst representation of power the world has seen. This time don't mention * being raised in a family with close financial and ideological ties to an atrocious dictatorship, people tend to get emotional and distracted. ;-) Can SOMEONE please assemble?

...and this is a BIG but...."

Thanks for catching that. "Hide in plain sight" is right.

This is the fourth time Bush has mentioned how much he would like to be a dictator. This guy really needs to go, and go soon.

11. Dictator Bush!
Bush thinks he has the 2004 election won "big time". He thinks he will not only win very easily but that he will greatly increase the GOP majority in the Senate.

Putting Pickering on the bench is like a poker player going "all in". This was a real shot across the bow of the Senate and nobody even complained. We have a bunch of open Senate seats in the South; Bush obviously thinks he is going to get them with his "Southern strategy" and unless we do something, he is probably right.

13. With enough computerized voting machines and
enough vote suppression like they used in FL, he DOES have 2004 all wrapped up.

He can piss off as much of his base as he wants to and still win big.

17. You are so right it’s frightening.
The Pickering appointment and how it was done is more of the same FU arrogance he showed to the world and the UN with the still unjustified and imperialist invasion of Iraq. As if that wasn’t outrageous enough, this really hits home. This is a direct assault on our own democracy. (Iraqi Governing Counsel: Beware! This is not the democratic role model you should be emulating. If it seems familiar…)

And what kind of attention does the fascist media devote to this appointment? A postscript BTW there was a recess appointment to the 5th circuit appellate court. (yawn) Maybe the country and the media have all been de-conditioned by the Patriot Acts. I know I’m making excuses, but his entire administration has and continues to be so King George I can’t understand why there isn’t more open rebellion here.

I no longer live in the South (for many good reasons.) I don’t see our base strong enough there to reclaim these congressional or senate seats when the party is controlled or enamored by faux Democrats like Zell Miller. I’m sorry to sound so bleak, but it will take a sex scandal to bring him down. Unfortunately, I don’t think that even Paris Hilton would want to have sex with a chimp. (I could be wrong. Maybe there’s someone out there with a fetish for residential cuff links.)

If it’s not apparent by now, I have a negative view of the cognitive powers of the masses in this country. How could I not? Hello California, Florida and don’t get me started. However, it has been really refreshing to see the C-Span coverage of the Iowa caucus. I can and will support most of the major candidates to overturn the little chimp dic. I’d even support my least favorite candidates if they received the nomination. Ultimately, I’m so glad to have found the DU comfort zone. Still, I’m afraid that in these times, that is all it is. Can’t wait to be proved wrong.

19. * has "a good heart and a spine of steel"
-- so sayeth Zig Zag Zell in the article, imbedding his lips even further in boosh's backside (if that's possible). I prefer the old southern saying, "a hand full of 'gimmie' and a mouthful of 'much obliged'." (Or the current alternate, "a heart full of hate and a mouth full of mush.")

21. Love his "dig" on banning abortion....
"Congress must not fear faith-based programs that interface and save lives," Bush said. "They must welcome such programs."

Such a sweet way to put it your Dictatorship. A woman shouldn't have the right to choose one way or the other,it should be left up to Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell.

25. Sounds familiar
Reminds me of that Richard Prior movie ("Moving" I believe its called) where he buys this house in Boise and the seller constantly jokes about how he is going to take everything including the windows.

When Prior and his family arrive, everything is out of the house, including the windows.
