I, Jack Rabbit, call on the junta to resign
Edited on Tue Jul-08-03 07:00 PM by Jack Rabbit
EDITED for typing.

All of them. Every last one of them.

With the revelations since the weekend, all reasonable people must admit that Bush and aides lied about Saddam's military capabilities ahead of the war in order to drum up support. No reasonable person should any longer expect a biochemical arsenal to be found. And all well-informed people have known for some time that Saddam in no way supported al-Qaida, although Bush and his aides beat this drum and continued to beat it.

The reasons that were given to justify the war in Iraq were lies. American combat troops were sent to Iraq to kill and be killed for reasons too nefarious to name. Those reasons were greed for profits, gluttony for oil and lust for empire. Few of those who fought and died and few members of their families will get a cut of the action. Neither should Halliburton, Carlyle or Exxon profit from this historic crime.

Those who sent them must stand down. Lying to justify the use of combat troops is unprecedented in the hisotry of open societies. There can be no greater crime than this. Those who lied -- Bush, Cheney, Powell, Rumsfled, Rice and many, many others -- are unworthy of our trust. They must now resign and prepare to stand trial for the fraud they have purpetrated on the people of America, on the people of Iraq, on all the people on this planet.

The time has come for them to go. They stand in shame. They must resign.

1. But ,but but
Carl Levin just said it was a mistake from the "bowels of the CIA" that they kept "hidden for over a year".

If the Dems are helping Bush* lie about starting a war, is there an opposition party?

Don't answer that.

3. fat chance
I remember during the Clinton impeachment circus, Larry Flynt offered 1 million dollars to anyone who had information about any Republicans who had committed adultry. One Republican Congressman, I forget who, resigned in response and called upon the President to do the same. Don't waste your time with this nonsense. Bushy isn't going to resign. Be patient and wait until 2004. Republicans hold too many seats in the House and Senate to even think about impeachment. And resignation talk is like trying to shoot the moon out of the sky with a gun.

4. It was Livingston, who was to succeed Gingrich as Speaker

Do I believe Bush will resign? No.

Do I believe it is a waste of time to call for his resignation. No. IMHO, not to call for his resignation, impeachment or trial as a war criminal is tantamount to saying he did nothing wrong.

without flinching. War criminal Tommy Franks did it last night, while he gave his whole-hearted endorsement to Smirk's "Bring it on"

Excellent post, btw.
