Weary GI's in Iraq say "Bring Us Home!"
Edited on Wed Jan-14-04 09:02 AM by Mari333

'Bring us home': GIs flood US with war-weary emails

An unprecedented internet campaign waged on the frontline and in the US is exposing the real risks for troops in Iraq. Paul Harris and Jonathan Franklin report on rising fears that the conflict is now a desert Vietnam

Sunday August 10, 2003
The Observer

Susan Schuman is angry. Her GI son is serving in the Iraqi town of Samarra, at the heart of the 'Sunni triangle', where American troops are killed with grim regularity.
Breaking the traditional silence of military families during time of war, Schuman knows what she wants - and who she blames for the danger to her son, Justin. 'I want them to bring our troops home. I am appalled at Bush's policies. He has got us into a terrible mess,' she said.

this breaks my heart, and terrifies me as my stepson sits at Ft Dix, being prepared for his stint in Iraq....

2. Goodbye and remember as u leave
The only tyrant murdering our sons and daughters in Iraq at this time is Bush and his Cabal.
They should all be tried for treason.
Dissent is Patriotism. Blind Loyalty is Treasonous.
God help all people who backed this war for Greed and Nothing that is murdering our kids every day and destroying our country.
The Blood of Our children and all the dead and wounded is on their hands.
and God damn Bush and his Administration.

7. here is more....
<In a message posted on a website last week, one soldier was brutally frank. 'Somewhere down the line, we became an occupation force in eyes. We don't feel like heroes any more,' said Private Isaac Kindblade of the 671st Engineer Company.

Kindblade said morale was poor, and he attacked the leadership back home. 'The rules of engagement are crippling. We are outnumbered. We are exhausted. We are in over our heads. The President says, "Bring 'em on." The generals say we don't need more troops. Well, they're not over here,' he wrote.>

Thank you for this Mari. I am printing it up and sending this to my faux watching Mom. This one needs to be spread around.

10. This is an issue we cannot let be ignored.
These men and women enlisted for all the proper reasons (to defend our country from terrorists, college educations, American pride) and they are getting kicked where it hurts daily--by this FUCKING administration (I almost never use that word).

Nothing good can come of our occupation of Iraq now (if it ever could--I didn't support going in the first place).

Bring our men and women home from Iraq now.

Mari, every day I pray for your stepson and all our sons and daughters, wives and husbands, sisters and brothers.
