An encouraging trend from small town America
My boss is a small businessman, very active in the Chamber of Commerce, local charities and youth sports. He regularly attends luncheons and meetings of the other businessmen in town. He's an ex-jock who, as far as I know, doesn't watch much news, though he probably reads the local paper.

Today, out the blue, he tells me, "Bush is ruining the economy. I'm voting for any Democrat that can beat him."

We don't have political discussions at work. For him to volunteer this information right after a meeting with his buddies makes me wonder if maybe small town downtown is getting really worried about the economy. Sounds like the Shrub might be losing ground in a region he figured was his to keep. (This is a small town in the most conservative section of Arkansas!)
