Back when Television reflected reality...
Just ran across an Episode of Roseanne from 1992. The economy is bad. No jobs. Small businesses are folding. Like Dan's motorcycle shop.

While discussing the imminent folding of the shop, Roseanne says, "Hopefully the economy will get better after the election". Roseanne crosses her fingers hopefully, and she and Dan give each other big smiles.

Today? Reality on TV has Nothing to do with Reality.

This may not be a purely political topic, but television is as close as America comes to having an all seeing eye. An eye that only shows what they want us to see.

2. Queer Eye is a lot more representative of reality than Fox News is.

3. I agree, XNASA.

I have actually been amazed at the couple of households where the person (or family, in one case), had NO FURNITURE to speak of. Shoot, even when I was dirt poor, I had a couple of pieces of old furniture and a couple of posters on the wall. These people had the money, but they strewed their living spaces with kids' toys, junk, boxes, electronics, etc. Very strange. Seems to me the first thing you'd buy would be a thing to sit in or sleep on or eat off of, but that's just me. :eyes:

5. That's a tiny representation of the Reality shows...
..so I'm not sure why you brought it up.

And I wasn't commenting just on reality show, but on the entirety of real life depictions on tv.

6. What's so demeaning about being a fashion consultant????
What's so demeaning about being well groomed?

What's so demeaning about being a male in touch with his feminine side?

It sounds to me like you're the one with the problem with it.

7. Amen, Nikia. Millions of women out here would
give their left tits for a guy who was well-groomed, empathetic, cleaned up after himself, and thought about something besides what THEY wanted once in a while. It would be refreshing.

Where the Hell do you get that?

I said I was talking about the "entirety of real life depictions on tv". Not even specifically Reality shows. Was Roseanne a reality show?

I started a thread on a generalized subject. I was wondering why this person with 30 posts brought up Queer Eye. If they are a troll and trying to start trouble, it certainly worked.

Nothing in my posts indicated your accusation.

Try reading and thinking before overreacting.
