Spouting words you don't believe as a job, as a core evil in our culture
The simple act of speaking ought to be degraded and vilified as humiliating and the 8th deadly sin if you are saying the words just because you are being paid to say them.

On another thread someone referred to 'paid propagandists' on yahoo message boards..who knows if they are there? But it would certainly be a surprising oversight if they were not:
*we get tons of commercials PLUS 20 minutes of product-placement "news" in every hour of news
*we read regurgitated "news releases" from salaried "think tank experts" and from the government every day.
*we watch 'experts' on CNBC advising viewers on stocks-to-buy getting extra commisssions, and other experts on politics who are paid consultants.
*syndicated columnists like George Will and William Buckley get extra pocket change from some of the people they write about.
*"scientists" publish papers of their research findings which coincidentally support the desires of their corporate backers.

1. I understand
On a fitness board I visit, a woman has " To have what few have, one must be willing to do what few will do." She means vigorous exercise, but the words, when applied to some pundits and politicians, take on a sinister meaning. Some people are willing to make a killing by lying to their fellow man. I think constant lying must take a toll eventually unless one is a complete sociopath. I wonder if the burden of guilt makes someone like Rush Limbaugh turn to pills to relieve the pain.
