C-Span Now! 5:40 est. DLC Al From confronts Newt Gingrich, about Politics
Barf alert, but might be interesting for the political confrontation. For DU'ers who are DLC sympathizers and those who wonder what Newt is up to now.

13. Sorry, you are correct. In my anger and haste, I said Senate. He was in
the House as Speaker...and a jerk there.

party debates a rightist who once led the conservative party. WHat will we get a make out session followed by a contest to see who has the most devious plan to screw over the "peasant classes"?

5. This is where Terry M (the head guy) needs to come down like a ton of
bricks on this guy. he is more than a liability to us Dems - shame on us that we don't have more control of our people. If he were a pub and talked against their party like that, they would skin him alive.

6. This was disgusting........
first of all, Al From is a horrible speaker. Secondly, his message stinks and third, he loves Newt!!! He seems to be devastated by Dean's popularity. And what bothers me most, he likes BIG BUSINESS! I heard nil about the working guy or kitchen table issues. But I heard a lot about BIG BUSINESS.:grr:

7. I posted this, but had to turn it off after From. It was making me sick.
I don't know what this says about me as a Democrat that I couldn't watch anymore, but I know to keep the little "sanity" that I had left in my brain. I know that I've got to become even more "active" than I was during the "build up to Iraq." I've got to fight harder to get these folks OUT of the DEM PARTY.

I have to do that or leave America....:-( and since that's not likely I have to fight!

8. Newt is a f*cking hypocrite!
Denouncing Clinton during the Monica thing, when all the while he was having an affair with a young chick from "The Hill." Spare me.

Newt has done more to divide Dems and Repugs and the civility that once existed. He is trash....absolutely trash.

10. I haven't been so energized in a couple of months. I want to defeat From!
That he could get on C-Span and praise Newtie and trash members of his own party has energized me as much as I was in the Build Up and Early Days of the Iraq Invasion.

From "laid down the gauntlet" to me....I will have to go through more "fire" to save my country that I even wonder if it's worth saving lately given the lack of interest in what is really going on.

But, for those of us who are still "patriotic" in the "real sense" we gotta go those extra miles. This stuff CANNOT STAND! And, I don't wan't to go to Canada (it's too cold) and can't think of anywhere else, so I've got to stay here and fight to the death with these "Faux Dems," to Take Back the Dem Party from the "thieves who stole it from us."

Gotta do it....and believe me....my feet are dragging lately.

11. KoKo, Is This the Repeat or Another Newt/From Affair?
I saw these two together before on C-SPAN.

Al From is the biggest cancer on the Democratic Party.

Al From and his DLC along with the "New Republic" are some "friends", huh?

Edited on Sat Jan-10-04 07:58 PM by KoKo01
"back to back" on C-Span this afternoon here on the East Coast with the From/Newt Discussion. It was the first opportunity I had to watch either, so it was "new" to me. If you missed it, you can probably see it later since you're "West Coast."

Someone said Byrd was on Thursday this week, and I remember a heads up about From/Newt a couple of days ago. If you already saw this in the last week then I'd say "you got it." No need to subject yourself to a stroke over watching again. Except for Byrd accepting his award. I could watch that many times being so fond of him....
