Did anyone watch ABC Evening News tonight? They showed American BlackHawk pilots watching through night vision some Iraqis from a distance. All you could see were images. One man pulled something shaped possibly like a rifle (but you really couldn't be sure) and walk toward a field. It looked like they were in a deserted field. Our guys opened fire and the Iraqis disintegrated. No questioning, no positive ID just blow them up because they 'might' be up to no good. If they show that video of 3 people being blown up summarily, what would Iraqis think if they saw it?

Yet most who go around, claiming to love America this and raise the flag that still hate gays and their "Gay Pride"., not even seeing the irony, the rather obvious parallel, and inhumanity of it all.

10. That is the "Powell" Doctrine in play

Powell wrote about it in his book. He said that males in black PJs, in the open, were (de facto) Viet Cong. Especially if they ran when US helicopters came overhead. That, according to the Powell Doctrine, was enough evidence to blow their shit away. And we are expected to be a better country with assholes like this in control. FUCK HIM!

11. Since this is a rhetorical question,

I'll just convey my opinon. I'm a European living in the US. I've lived here about 15 years. I've never understood why the Americans are so isolationist. They seem to feel there is no one else on earth besides them. I wonder if the headline caption you quoted, which I've seen many times, even has an effect.

I took a history class once where the professor explained that the US always has been isolationist because it is bordered by 2 huge oceans on both sides; the Pacific and the Atlantic. Of course, we have Canada and Mexico to the north and south, but they don't count.

So when the average american reads the daily headline which says that we are hated the world over, I'm not so sure it has an impact. Because we're too far away from others. Europeans have to get along because we're so close to each other.

So maybe it's a good thing there's an ocean.....between the US and Europe.
