Nat'l Committee to Preserve Soc. Security
I received in the mail today a packet of sorts from the National Committee to Preserve Social Security. Any one here familiar with this organization? Are they legit? Here is their website:

http://www.ncpssm.org

I would like to donate as requested but I would rather hear from the folks that frequent this board first. :)

Thanks!

1. Donate to this group instead.
www.retiredamericans.org

I have my suspicions about the one you mention. It has been around a while and just collects money and scares people.

I only trust the one I posted, not even AARP anymore.

2. I REALLY like this organization.
The only one to go against Breaux/Bush commission on Medicare. Caled them out on national TV.

And they are not "in business" like AARP, which has been horrible for years.$10 fee per year.Of course they always ask for more, but they do have hotline to bills and proposed bills. Helps keep you informed. They are prominent as lobbyists for seniors and report on which reps and senators they meet with and what the result was.

No goodies, like discounts on luxury cruises, just straight up lobbying.Especially good for senior women who live longer.

Not familiar with the other organization.

3. Not clear...
Which one you like, and which one you don't like.

Which "column" is the one the poster mentioned?

Thanks for your input!

4. Like National Committee to Preserve Social Security & Medicare.
They rock. High-power lobbying for very little $$.No corporate interests, just the little guy.
