Is Your Beef With BushCo More Material or Moral?
Edited on Fri Jan-09-04 04:56 PM by Stevendsmith
My current material status is not much different than it was under Clinton. Despite the fact that I live paycheck to paycheck and am not wealthy by any stretch, I am pretty comfortable. I'm one of the lucky ones, I suppose.

My loathing for the administration and its allies is overwhelmingly rooted in the moral/intellectual level. Put simply, I don't like being lied to. This is an administration built upon deceit. They have lied to us about their economic policies, their judicial agenda, 9-11, Iraq, etc., etc. This brazen dishonesty is what fuels my loathing. BushCo is a deep insult to all that is decent and socially just.

1. It would have to be moral....
...because if it were material with me, my friends would laugh in my face.

Moral.
Sure, I would have never voted for a Republican...but there are lots of Republicans who would not make me puke as bad as this one does.

My biggest beef with * is that he wasn't elected. Everything else is just annoying.

4. I'd have to say moral as well.
Though I just got laid off today, I've been able to maintain my regular lifestyle throughout the Dubya years so far. My problem with this regime is their blatent theft of the election, allowing 9/11 to happen, the lies to start war with Iraq, the corperate profiteering, the disregard of allies and flat out arrogance against the rest of the World as well as the destruction of the Constitution. These guys have a lot to answer for.

5. Moral.
It may not be bad for some of us now, but there are many people who are suffering. And the water, air, and land don't stand a chance.

6. False dilemma. Maybe Moral = Material
That is, when right and wrong is defined by the consequence.

9. It's moral.
Bush prances around talking about his faith and how compassionate he is, but you can bet your boots he's putting in place policies that will line his pockets and those of his family and supporters for decades to come.

He's putting in place policies that will jeopardize the lives and livelihoods of millions of people, including those in his native land. For that alone he deserves to be held to account.

I also find him touchy, manipulative, selfish, incurious, self-absorbed, and chilly, despite the press's claims that he's just a regular guy and quite friendly. He has virtually NOTHING to do with his temporary home, the Washington, D.C., area, unless there's a little photo opportunity involved. He spends an amazing amount of time going back to Texas.

Oh, and he's a perfectly LOUSY speaker.
