Selective Service

Today in the mail, I received, from the Selective Service System, a Potential Board Member Information Sheet which I am to complete and return. Upon receipt, my application will be processed and a Selective Service Reserve Force Officer will be contacting me for an interview. I had signed up on the Internet a couple of months ago. I will keep you posted on what happens.

1. I received one of these as well, because I signed up for it.

But I'll be honest, I haven't decided what to do about it yet. I understand the merits for liberal minded thinkers sitting on a local selective service board, but I'm just not sure I can bear it... :(

3. I did all of the above, mailed the app in, and got a form letter back.

It sounded a lot like "thanks for your interest, we'll keep your application on file."

I, too, was expecting to be contacted for an interview, but I think I was blown off. Wonder if my (almost) 28-year history of being a registered Dem had anything to do with it?
