1. From the CREW news release:
"This type of covert propaganda, has no place in a healthy democracy," Melanie Sloan, executive director of CREW said today. "It is particularly outrageous that the government continues to engage in this sort of illegal activity despite the fact that the GAO has said that it is illegal."

Sloan continued, "The question now is how extensively has the Administration used propaganda to shore up its controversial policies? Did it pay any commentators to speak out in support of the Patriot Act? Is it paying anyone now to convince the public that Social Security is in crisis? By filing these FOIAS, we hope to answer these questions."

Good Luck getting anything out of this administration.

8. 50 years ago, everyone was very upset to discover "payola".
That was the practice of paying disk jockeys to promote certain recordings. That scandal pales in comparison to "payola_II"
.

3. Notice something?
All the blame is being placed on Williams.

Do you hear any of our leaders saying anything about who paid? Have anyone of them clearly stated which law is broken?

Where is the law on this?

So Williams loses two jobs?

Is the entire country going to settle for that?

I welcome 22 more. What is 22 x $240,000?

Did Scotty McLellan set up the contract? Or does each Secretary set up their own?

Does the WH get away with this?

The focus of attention has to be swung away from the writer-talking mouth.

7. Yes I notice how all the focus is on Williams.
Williams didn't break any laws either. There's two parties involved in this transaction but the one that is violating the law seems to be forgotten. As usual the Bush administration is getting a pass from their media accomplices. Not surprising since they've all been bought off or intimidated.

4. Help me get this straight
CBS does not do enough to determine that they have been given phony evidence about a scandal in the president's past which all other evidence indicates to be true = unethical + grounds for termination

White House pays phony journalist $240,000 to shill for them and grant free air time to their talking heads = Just a normal government practice to help get the message to the people, so only the shill is to blame

I must be missing something here.

9. I think NBC, CNN, ABC, and FOX are trying to bring CBS down. As in out.
No network. No broadcasts.

Then we'll get closer to the magic three - the number you get when you want to perpetuate the myth of free press, but also need to control and propagandize.

We have one train service.

The number three has been talked about in the airlines for a couple of decades.

They probably have only three investment companies in mind for SS.

How many accounting firms are there who counsel the corporations in how to set up phoney books and get your money out of the country?

Just a thought.
