LiftingJawFromFloor - ltrs to editor smack aWol in major Mississippi paper
Both were shockers to me in this paper.

Bush should be impeached, now!

President Bush should be impeached.

Benjamin Franklin once said, "He who gives up a little freedom for more security deserves neither freedom nor security."

Yet, President Bush has claimed for himself the authority to jail citizens and residents of the United States indefinitely, without any charge against them, without trial and without access to a lawyer.

This is contemptuous treatment of the Bill of Rights, plainly, but Bush and Attorney General John Ashcroft have made such changes with a hardly a whimper from Americans.

Where is our patriotism?

In addition, Bush, Vice President Richard Cheney and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld have carried out a pre-emptive war of aggression, which violates the U.S. Constitution and the U.N. Charter and is grounds for impeachment.

Why not 'recall' President Bush?

California is in the process of recalling its governor. The voters of the United States should recall President Bush. Why?

snip

He insisted that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and started a war without justification. The United Nations had no say in the matter. He has gotten hundreds of our military killed without having a reason and more are being killed each day while he goes around giving election speeches.

He thinks he is God and does not have to answer to anyone. We, the people, should recall him.

2. Brighter days ahead
Estrada quits. UN resolution sought. "They tell
me" tax cut helped during "recession".

Powell defeats PNACers. Rumsfeld is on the way out. Soldiers
in Iraq not allowed outside bases. Bill for war in the mail
to Congress.

Ours is becoming the majority opinion, i.e., we can't trust *
with our government.

3. The Rage in the Cage
Wanda Sykes, when speaking of those states where Bush prevailed, claimed "ain't nobody live there. Only rocks and coyotes."

Let him get his rocks off ruling over a cage-full of coyotes.
And we can send five certain Supreme Court Justices in there to umpire.
