WHEN Plaid Cymru's Adam Price declared in September his intention to impeach the Prime Minister for misleading the House of Commons and the nation over the reasons for going to war in Iraq, we said Mr Blair had a serious case to answer.
The report commissioned by Mr Price provided a series of compelling contrasts between what Mr Blair said during the run-up to the war about Saddam Hussein's supposed military capabilities and what we now know about the intelligence information available to the Prime Minister at the time of his claims. Meanwhile, in the United States, even the likes of Donald Rumsfeld now admit that weapons of mass destruction will not be found.
Nothing has happened since September to make us change our mind. If anything, the failure of Mr Blair or any other Minister to provide a coherent response to Mr Price's case convinces us all the more that there must be a full parliamentary debate on the matter.
Yesterday a number of celebrities ranging from the playwright Harold Pinter to musician Brian Eno lent their weight to the campaign to impeach Mr Blair. <snip>
