1. I keep pissing off
folks who choose to fly flags on their cars/trucks. I inform them that, while they may not be intending to destroy the flag, they are, by allowing it to become frayed. I also mention to the people that leave their flags out around the clock, that it is unlawful to leave the flag out after sunset unless it is illumunated. I recommed that they check out the US Flag Code.

2. I do the same :)
Although personally, I could care less. I do it just because these people claim to be honoring the flag, etc. yet they are letting it get soiled, tattered and dirty.

It's also fun to harrass people that have several flags flying in front of their home and point out that even the White House only flys one flag, same with any military base. . . 1 flag. Maybe because the flag code says only 1 per building or base :).

4. Bush has desecrated the flag...
...and all that it stands for, by exploiting national patriotism in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy to launch a war for ulterior motives. This administration's misinformation campaign and suppression of dissent has subverted the democratic principle of informed consent, while the so called "Patriot Act" is an assault on our Constitution.

This assault on the essence of our flag is a much greater desecration than any physical abuse of a tangible piece of fabric. That so many people express support for these atrocities by proudly displaying the tangible object makes me want to vomit. :puke: :puke: :puke:
