USA Today's Shapiro on Wesley Clark
Shapiro is smart and a straight shooter. I hope he's wrong
this time.

1. yeah, hope you're right
about him being wrong. He makes a logical point. We'll know soon enough, I guess. ;-)

2. pressure
If I am to believe all the information about Gen. Clark put forth from
his supporters I would have to conclude that he is fully aware of and
capable of analyzing the advantages and disavantages of delaying his
response.

No one here can deny that there are dark and terrible forces at work in
this nation. Yesterday we learned of an can attempt to get Gen. Clark
fired from CNN for his views of the Iraq War. Can you imagine what
"behind the scene" pressure he and possible his family are being
subjected to now since he has stopped short, only by the width of a nat's
ass, of calling Geo. Bush a liar.

Gen. Clark represents a "clear and presant danger" to this administration.
He will not be welcomed into the race with open arms as was Dean. Neither
will this administration go down without a fight, drawing upon all of the
dark forces at their disposal to remain in power.

If it takes a few more days or a couple of weeks or even a month for him
to decide, so be it. His decision and to a lesser extent ours over the
next few months will have a profound effect upon the future of The United
States. Hopefully we will all make the right ones.

3. Dean has nothing to worry about...
WES is flirting with the Vice Presidential slot....you don't run for vice president but (actually) you do. Wes is OK as Veep material -- Dean's the top and Wes is most definitely the bottom!

And kclown, I agree, Shapiro is often smart and straight, but more so at analyzing current events, I think.

Hardly any pundit is worth warm spit at predicting the future, until it's obvious to all. How was Walter on Dean "before"? Any predictions about meetups or netmoney effects on '04 race, before?
