She won election in a very conservative district by only 1,200 votes and is in her first term. She is in the fight of her life right now and it is not looking good at all for her re-election. The people in her district are red neck hick but she has stood by liberals when even Dems in liberal districts would not. She is being attacked as an out of touch liberal because she has tried to raise income and property taxes to fund the dying social programs in Michigan...and int he red neck district she is from she amazingly came out in support of gay marriage and against the late term abortion ban that passed in our state. She is also taking on Republicans who are trying to bring back the death penalty and has stated she is completely opposed to it. I would be floored if someone this liberal cna be re-elected, but I am posting this to show Greens on this board that Democrats do try to stand up for liberal values and unfortunately this is what happens many times.
