Shameless Plug: My Column
In case you missed it from DU's main page, my column on the war in Iraq, as perceived by George W. Bush.

Loved it. I actually sent it to a few * supporters I'm working on.
12 have seen the light already and say they will not vote for him again.

6. Great column
It gets down to frustration with people seemingly apathetic or disempowering themselves, disencumbering their minds and Teflon coating their consciences with lots of help from monopolies of opinion dictating on high.

However patience with the victim is necessary. The world sees things more clearly because THEY are not here. When it involves their own country the same defensive, slow thickheaded vices come into play. People may come around to Kerry in spite of all this, in spite of murk and slant. They may vote in a state of comparative ignorance because their instinct and heart guides them right. Keep it clear. Don't slam them. In supporting Clinton through impeachment they took away the poison as well. As with other great national crises we always kid ourselves in thinking those cancers and wounds ever heal, and never fester into something much worse.

True, it is clear that where there is a jerk, there is a Bush voter, but the secret to Bush success is exploiting the jerk in all of us. Those who see better and find it easier to blame our fellow victimized Americans can be amazed to find ourselves doing unintentional good for the liar in chief. Therefore how well do we see?

We all have stupidity and selfish malfeasance lingering within. War and fear can brutalize that to the fore. It never should be cheered.
Point people to the actions and results of Bush. The incredible emptiness of his words. The secrecy of all his actions. The danger he poses to America. But show the steady promise and reliable leadership of the Kerry we know and blow through the blowhards and hard heads.

7. Enjoyed it...
although I disagree with one of your points. I think the Republicans are well aware that Moore was trying to humanize Iraqis. They made some other preposterous charges regarding those happy day-to-day pre-occupation Iraqis that Moore showed, but they knew that just showing them functioning as ordinary people was the real problem.

Just as German propagandist drew Jews as rats, this administration must resist all attempts to humanize the enemy. This is the only way that they can justify all the collateral damage in Iraq.

Just my opinion.
