Edited a bit, but that's just fine with me.....at least they printed it.
Bush was in charge on Sept. 11, 2001
It's been three years since Osama Bin Laden successfully attacked us. We aren't safer now. We were safe prior to Sept. 11, but President Bush and his administration chose to overlook memos and intelligence handed to them on silver platters from January to August 2001 giving clear blueprints of al-Qaeda plans to attack us soon. Rice said: "We didn't know they would use planes."
Why were some government officials warned not to fly in September? Why was Bin Laden's family allowed to leave the U.S. after Sept. 11 despite FBI protests, when 16 of the 19 terrorists were Saudi citizens and the rest of the country declared a no-fly zone?
On Sept. 13, 2001, Mr. Bush said: "The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our No. 1 priority and we will not rest until we find him."
On Sept. 19, he added, "Wanted: Dead or Alive."
In March 2001 Mr. Bush proposed building an oil pipeline through Afghanistan to the Caspian Sea. U.S. officials told the Taliban: "Either you accept our offer of a carpet of gold, or we bury you under a carpet of bombs."
U.S. air strikes in Afghanistan began Oct. 7, 2001. Mr. Bush said, the Taliban would "pay the price" for sheltering terrorists. March 13, 2003 Mr. Bush said of Osama: "I don't know where he is. I truly am not that concerned about him."
At least 1,000 U.S. troops have been killed in Afghanistan. The U.S. government refuses to release the actual death toll.
March 20, 2003, the U.S. began bombing Iraq. Mr. Bush said Saddam Hussein had WMD and was a direct threat to America and neighboring Arab nations.
No evidence has been found of WMD. Our foreign policy is run by Project for a New American Century. They decide where our troops will be sent. We've lost 1,007 troops in Iraq that we know of. Thousands of troops have returned injured from both Iraq and Afghanistan. Hussein had nothing to do with Sept. 11. Mr. Bush said on Sept. 17, 2003: "We've had no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved in Sept. 11."
Mr. Cheney said we will be attacked if we don't make the "right choice" at the ballot box in November. Sept. 11 occurred on President Bush's watch.
