Now they are attacking Harkin!
http://www.qctimes.com/internal.php?story_id=1033503&t=Columnists&c=57,1033503

"The Wall Street Journal’s conservative editorial page accused the Iowa Democrat of exaggerating his military record by recalling a book that said Harkin told members of a roundtable discussion in 1979 that he was in the Vietnam War, flying “F-4s and F-8s on combat air patrols and photo-reconnaissance support missions.”

This is getting nuts!

the less impact it has.

5. Bush Never Did Vietnam.
I often wonder how Bush and his cronies can condemn democrat's service in Nam, when they chose to never go and found an out.

3. This is because he called Cheney a coward. See? Its all coming home
to roost. If you had the F**CKING AUDACITY to go do your civic duty in uniform, you deserve what you get. Got that, Mr. "I DIDN'T RUN AWAY LIKE A LITTLE COWARD!" HARKIN!

Love Tom. Get 'em.

4. Uh huh
And I'm sure that when the draft comes back, if their president is elected this fall, none of the members of the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board will try to pull any strings to get their kids deferments.

6. By the way, flying recon and air patrols was enough to get many killed
and shot down. My cousin did. He also died of agent orange. May God damn them to the deepest hell imaginable.

7. My dad flew recon in Nam...................
risked his life every day for a year. He was a career USAF officer, and was highly decorated for his troubles, including the DFC. I am angered almost to the point of violence when I hear these cowardly asses questioning decorations 30 years after the fact. My dad died of lung cancer (possible Agent Orange exposure?) at the ripe old age of 47, so he is not here to listen to this nonsense. And now this is how the POTUS and his thugs treat our veterans?? Death is too good for the lot of them. Let me have at them with a #15 scalpel blade so they can enjoy the death of a thousand cuts.

9. I am beginning to have a better understanding
of why so few people are willing to stand up to these bastards. Holy shit! Everyone who opens their mouth becomes a left handed Lesbian child molester within a week - how can we keep letting them get away with this shit?

I have lost several friends over this current state of affairs. They were all FOX/Repub moonies who kept forwarding on all the smear shit these guys put out on the Internet. I kept referring them to SNOPES, being polite, correcting them - all to no avail. Finally I just asked to quit sending me their moronic and dishonest bullshit because I just wasn't interested.

It amazes me that we are still fighting the Vietnam war. 2 of these guys I used to call friends are Vietnam vets, and they stumble around like automatons mouthing every new lie that comes out about Kerry "he wasn't really there that long, his injuries were minor, blahblahblah" - JeezusKeerist, you would think veterans, of all people, would recognize this horrible horrible shit for what it is.

God help us.

13. Those gung ho type Vets are the very ones my hubby
refuses to spend time with. I used to ask him why he didn't hang out at the Veterans Hall or whatever. He said he couldn't stand them, that they were jerks. I didn't know what he meant until recently.

Some of them just love to re live the horror of those awful times, over and over. Some are racist in that they STILL demonize their so-called enemy and continue reliving the killing and such like that. Some get drunk and rabble rouse.

That's not to diminish their service; I'm just pointing out that some vets still cling to the Rambo ideal and just can't let it go; they're usually the ones most likely to get behind the repubican war machine. My husband can't hang with that. He doesn't want to "remember". War is hell.

12. oh, those Pukkes are sensitive aren't they
I guess it really hurt Cheney's feelings to be called a coward by a veteran.

The truth does hurt sometimes.
