Al Jazeera shut down for 30 days in Iraq because of inciting . . .
violence.

I've said that for a long time. If the kidnappers have no outlet to expose their demands or to show their cruelty, maybe they would stop. I know they can put it on the internet or another channel willing to show such brutality; however, Al Jazeera seems to be the channel the terrorists and Al Quaeda and they are always way to willing to show the worst of it.

Of course, this is democracy at work in Iraq, again! (sarcasm). Freedom of the Press must not apply over there yet. Plus, I do not think we have it anymore, do we????

1. I take it you don't actually know anything about Al-Jazeera?

Because it doesn't sound like your opinion is based on actually watching it, reading the English website, or anything other than what our beloved liberal media have said.

What brutality have they shown lately? You do realize they haven't been airing the beheading videos, yes?

And what a surprise that the terra-ists are sending their videos to Al-Jazeera. What the hell channel should they send their propaganda to in the region? Hong Kong satellite stations?

2. This isn't going to do anything to stop "the terrorists."
You do realize that Al Jazeera is far more balanced than our main TV news outlets, don't you?

This is censorship, pure and simple.

5. Well, everyone has a right to their opinion. . .
I do read Al Jazeera's English site as well as I also read the news out of Sydney, ; The Independent Media <http://www.indymedia.org/or/index.shtml> News.com.au, English Pravda.ru., as well as AP, Reuters, etc. I don't just get my news from the US Inc. However, if our government shut down a major news network, what would we do about it? What could we do? Really???

I guess I did generalize to much, and I was assuming that Al Jazeera was the one getting the videos off the Internet for the beheadings. I never looked for the beheadings so I never did see where they really came from. So that was my own ignorance coming through.

I don't know why, but it has just stuck in my mind with Al Jazeera and OBL. Right after 9/11, it seemed like he only would send them messages to be reported and/or printed. At least, that is what it seemed like to me.

I do know that Al Jazeera as well as other sites are more apt to show brutality then our own news would ever show. Even with it being the truth, I feel that is a little irresponsible on Al Jazeera's part regarding children. Of course, those children have seen bodies blown apart in reality . . . I suppose showing the dead and body parts on the news does not shock them anymore either.

As far as Al Jazeera being all truthful, better than all of our own news outlets . . . I don't agree. Sorry, but I will trust an American news source more than an Arab(CNN),Indian, Australian, Russian, UK, Canadian, or underground news source. I have learned a lot more regarding 9/11 and the investigations some of the other countries have done as well as their "opinion" of Dubya, so I do like the diversity. But if it came down to it, I'd trust the US News over any other country's news . . . CSPAN is my hero.
