Also, none of the Navy SEALs said the now famous words: 'For God and country', and when they burst into Bin Laden's room, his wife screamed: 'No, no, don't do this... it’s not him!'

The claims are from Chuck Pfarrer, a former SEAL team commander, in a book called SEAL Target Geronimo.

I know what they mean by "Bert." Remember all those funny pictures of Bert from Sesame Street? The ones where it had him hanging out with hitler and the unabomber....these were big in the late 1990s. Well, the intelligence community was trying to study how stuff on the internet went viral. How information ravels between people on the web. They did this because they wanted to know exactly how Bin Ladens messages went from somewhere in Afghanistan to gaining a world audience. If there figured this out, they could figure out the ways to intercept the messages AND find out the various terror networks that spread the message.

As a case study, they used the Bert images. They knew the origin and used a sophisticated data mining program to work out the logistics. They then applied this to Bin Laden. Col. Anthony Schaffer used this method to find the people who would eventually become the hijackers.

So trying to find Bert = trying to find Bin laden.
