Walker says he should have prepared public earlier for his sweeping changes
WALKER LIES.
He said nothing of destroying collective bargaining during his campaign.

Walker says he should have prepared public earlier for his sweeping changes
Michael Sears

Gov. Scott Walker said Monday he should have done more to prepare the public for his plan to eliminate most collective bargaining for public employees.
.....................

After he announced his plan in early February, setting off mass protests at the Capitol in Madison, Walker said organized labor and other opponents "swooped in," spending millions attacking the plan.

"They defined it as a rights issue," Walker said. "It's not a rights issue. It's an expensive entitlement."
...................
While acknowledging that he should have done more work on the front end, the governor did say he gave plenty of warning during his campaign for governor last year - and even before then - that should have signaled he would take action to limit collective bargaining. As time goes by, the general public as well as public employees are coming to accept the changes, he said. Fewer people seem to be upset now than just a few months ago, the governor said......................

5. If he had spelled this out before the election
much unpleasantness could have been avoided, because Gov. Barrett would have gone in a much different direction.

9. What did he think we would stay in the streets
continuely until next Jan.? No if anything more people are getting angry at other parts of the law, so, yes it's quieter now, but it doesn't equal acceptance.

6. All of the Nov. 2010 governors-elect held back their vicious agendas until AFTER they were
safely elected. Walker isn't being truthful about his woulda-shoulda; he knew he would not have gotten enough votes to be elected.

Furthermore, knowing beforehand that he would be attacking unions, he had the GALL to use the police & firefighters' union in one of his campaign ads:

10. Walker exempted police and fire from his bill
But they knew it was just temporary, so they protested with the others at the Capitol. The firefighters' bagpipe and drum band was a favorite with the crowds (they're loud!).

11. Walker exempted them but that exclusion was as much unknown before he was elected
as his devious plan for the other, more vulnerable public unions. It was unconscionable how Walker used the police & firemen in his campaign ad, using the "policemen & firemen UNION" stamp-of-approval phrase several times in the ad's spiel.

And I have the deepest respect for the police & firemen for not allowing Walker to use them against those affected by his hurtful "budget" cuts.

He had his marching orders from the koch bros, His' campaign' was largely financed by the same.

His owners told him what to say and when to say it, like all of those other shitbags that got 'elected' last year.

The agendas are all the same along with the arrogance, and narcissism. The personality traits their puppetmasters

apparently find suitable for their intended purpose.Perfect 'Tools' that can be used to push ALEC 'model legislation'

off through statehouses also bought and sold, passed into 'laws' foisted on to everyone in the state because his base consisted

of easily manipulated low information, misinformed voters. There are plenty of us who knew what he was before and couldn't stand him.

I was one of those, and watched his campaign from the start, looking for signs, he displayed his usual brand of disingenuous RW crap

but not once did he ever mention the union issues,or give any hint of the real ugliness he was paid and prepared to unleash on this

state. That is one greedy, hate filled, sorry excuse of a public servant-as are his toadying sycophants.

edited because I'm still pissed-he NEEDS to be gone-yesterday.Period.

18. I don't know why
His fascist agenda is galloping along, and by next November the voter rolls will be "adjusted" so that the Repukes will sweep even more seats into their column. Wisconsin is now officially a lost cause, along with FL, OH, and NJ.

Welcome to hell. Unless we determine to do very serious damage to Big Media, the rest of our descent into fascism will be very, very fast.

21. What a butt load.
I live in the city where the rag that published this story is printed.

Once-upon-a-time, a VERY-Long-Time-Ago, this newspaper was one of the
country's best.

Sad to see them print such a transparently flattering P.R. piece for this
self-serving weasel and all-around corporate toady.

As if to imply anyone is trying to "learn from past mistakes, to better
protect and serve the best interests of the citizenry."

A conclusion which the astute reader is supposed to safely draw
from the headline, and the full load of malarkey that makes up the
article.

Nothing could be farther from the truth.

The only conclusion one can draw is that the paper's editors -- even
after the Republican's true agenda has been exposed:

http://www.expressmilwaukee.com/article-15288-walkers-budget-rewards-his-top-campaign-donors.html

are fully committed to their advertisers and other financial sponsors,
NOT their readers' best interests.

24. Yes, he should have
He should have got right up and said, "I am going to come into office, sign a huge business tax cut, then rape the public employees of this state to pay for it."

And then he would have received the 12 percent of the vote he should have, and a Democrat would have been elected.
