Sarah Palin Is Hurting Republicans Whether She Runs or Not
Rodney Southern of Yahoo! News writes:

COMMENTARY - In a political world where perception is everything, Sarah Palin is really hurting right now, according to The Week. The worst part is, she is pulling the Republican Party right down the drain with her.

In the past few weeks, Palin has shown all kinds of signs that she is running for president in 2012. She has bought a home in Arizona, hijacked a ride intended for veterans, released a book and announced a bus tour. All of these things say that she is building toward a run for the Republican nomination...or does it?

Rumors abound that Palin is simply building toward yet another payday. She has no real relevance without the possibility of running to fuel speculation. Could this be Palin simply being Palin?

If Palin is not intending to run for the Republican nomination, then she is simply being selfish. Her grandstanding makes it nearly impossible for fringe candidates to be heard. For the Republicans to win in 2012, they will need the very best they have to offer. How will voters know that with Palin taking up airspace and then backing out, like she did on her state of Alaska?

Relax, Rodney: Palin is running. Bank on it.

1. Whatever she does, let her hurt Republicans!
They foisted her upon us. They have nurtured, enabled and encouraged her. She's their Frankenstein's monster - with all due apologies to the fictional monster, who was much less a monster than his creator was.

2. Very true.
The Republicans had a chance a long time ago to reject her when she was out at the rallies spewing her hate-mongering speeches and they did not.
Now they own her.
McCain had the chance to say that he made a mistake and that he should have never picked her as a running mate and he did not.
The Republicans were joyous when Palin drew in the large crowds in 2008 and they, the Republicans, did not ever stand up and denounce the things that she said that were divisive, misleading, and out right falsehoods (such as The Death Panels), so now they can lay in the bed that they have made.

I truly hope that the Republicans end up with Palin as their nominee - America will NEVER elect her and President Obama would win by a HUGE landslide :)

4. Palin only coyly wants people to believe she might run. Her greed for more personal wealth
is what you can bank on. "Palin is simply building toward yet another payday" is exactly right.

5. It still worries me that the idiots could and would elect her
If we think bu$h was bad for this country, it would pale in comparison to someone like Palin or Bachmann to get the White House.

6. ... if she does run, it will only be for the first part of the election cycle ...
.... to garner as much publicity and money as she can, then after a couple mediocre primary showings, she'll stage another swan-song photo op to get her mug on MORE magazine covers and bow out ... and within a couple weeks after that, have some sort of reality show or 'political expert anchor' offer in front of her ...

It's all about the cameras and the benjamins for that idiot. She'd be happy never having to do another day's "work" in her life - she sure as hell doesn't really want to be President.

8. Since Sarah Palin is a private citizen...
and hasn't indicated that she is serious about rejoining the public servant arena, the media should treat her the same way they treat any other private citizen spending their summer vacation touring the country by Winnebago--abject ignorance.

Wait, there is one thing they should point out--her selfish tour isn't doing anything to help alleviate the "supply" side of "supply-and-demand" when it comes to gas prices.
