Logan: Pakistan has U.S. "blood on its hands"
Edited on Tue May-03-11 03:59 PM by Vehl
Source: CBS

Pakistan's government has argued for almost a decade that it is doing everything in its power to fight extremist groups on its soil.

CBS News senior foreign affairs correspondent Lara Logan says that's quite simply a lie.

"If you walk in Arlington Cemetery, past the fresh graves of American soldiers coming back from the field over there, Pakistan has some of the blood on its hands. They need to answer for that."

I for one was NOT shocked to hear that Osama was living in the Pakistani Equivalent of West Point.

I feel sorry for the thousands of Soldiers who died fighting in Afghanistan while this POS was living luxuriously under the shelter of "America's greatest ally" on the war on terror!

2. Pakistan has been playing both sides of the card
getting billions from us while at the same time supporting the Taliban. They've made a lot of money off the scam over the years.

3. I think we are much better than to blame Pakistan as a whole.
Many Pakistanis have been fed propoganda just like we have in the USA.

Most People want peace and prosperity but we live with political-scale psychopaths.

I am not shocked either and believe was OBL protected by at least rogue ISI and Pakistani military.

Let us have faith now for the Pakistani civilian government and the Whitehouse.

The death of OBL is a nexus, hope the event be to the good and for peace.

7. That goes both ways

We have Pakistani blood on our hands as well. Afghan blood, Iraqi blood, Yemeni blood, Libyan blood. So much blood has been spilled over the last few decades that it could fill a great lake. Yet still we persist in this war on terror which cannot be decisively won, we persist in this struggle that most understand will not end. Propaganda versus the truth, compassion and empathy versus hatred and ignorance. The ancient struggle to define what is good and right as opposed to what is evil and wrong.

The war on terror, ultimately, cannot be won through physical or military means. It can only be won through winning minds and hearts on all sides.

I'm not going to despise Pakistan or their government or intelligence agencies any more than I do our own. We are as guilty as they of terrible crimes, ultimately, right or wrong, we have far more blood on our hands than they do. The pot calls the kettle black, neither realizing the irony or absurdity of the statement.

(Edited for spelling)

8. Pakistan is a terrorist state.
We have been paying them protection money ever since they developed the bomb, all while they have been harboring and abetting terrorists. $18 Billion since 2002 alone and we have no plans to stop. http://www.businessinsider.com/pakistan-can-still-count-on-aid-from-the-us-2011-5

The only strategic interest we have in them is in preventing their nuclear arsenal from falling into radical hands, but they are just as bad. They are extorting us. Our national security priority should be in eliminating Pakistan's nuclear capability and well as preventing other rogue states from acquiring them and doing the same.

10. Blood paid for with US tax dollars.
Really how long have we known Pakistan was supporting the Taliban & Al Qaeda?
How many years? How long have we known it and continued to fund them? What level of involvement does the CIA have with the ISI?

12. Wikileaks shows that the US knows ISI supports Taliban and AQ
But they still keep engaging them. However thank heavens that president Obama did not notify Pakistan about the raid till it was over...otherwise the American forces would have raided "yet another" empty compound...like they always did every time they shared the intel with the ISI
