Philippines: Emulate WikiLeaks founder, youth urged

MANILA, Philippines—Young people wishing to fight the culture of corruption in the country should take the ultimate whistle-blower Julian Assange for their model, according Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago.

“I urge you to study the case of the WikiLeaks founder,” Santiago told students of the Far Eastern University at a symposium Thursday.

Assange, described as a computer hacker with a near-genius IQ, gathered official secrets in bulk, and stored them beyond the reach of governments before releasing them globally, she said.

WikiLeaks leaks news and information to the public through its electronic drop box, which it calls “principled leaking,” Santiago said.

1. Assange only has a near-genius IQ?
Ha, ha. I have a higher IQ than Julian Assange! (like that means anything)

4. Approaching INFINITY, from the sound of it
I just have one thing to say:

Those of you who think you know everything are annoying those of us who do.

3. I could care less about Assange's IQ..
But I agree with Santiago that every country needs something like Wikileaks until such time as we have governments that can be trusted to be sensible and responsible about what needs to be kept secret and what doesn't.
