22 and 23 year old police officers arrest "agitated" person who dies
while in their custody, and never received the psych evaluation he is arrested for.

I don't know when police became deciders of mental evaluations, but the outcome of this investigation might lend some understanding. This comes on the heels of stories throughout the country that are calling for better police training. Some police department are lacking basic training when dealing with persons with disabilities, and therefore persons are labeled drunk, agitated, and other potential wrong doing because of little to no understanding of persons who are differently abled.

4. Wow-this is horrendous. Somehow I wonder how people
who undergo this type of abuse ever move on to see police claims of safety have any meaning.

5. OMG! I'm so sorry!
:(

I hope there was no long term harm.

And I hope you got an apology and damages from the police department for that kind of horrible, irresponsible, unprofessional behavior.

:wow:

The Roman types can not tell the difference from a merchant captain and a Star Fleet Federation Captain. Note the Roman ideology of making people stronger by allowing them to be hurt, the view of some in society, but not the progressive view. Sort of explains some things, it is an ideology followed by many.

Star Trek Bread And Circuses

Note some quotes mentioned in the episode.

Kirk: "Pro Counsel, In some parts of the galaxy I have seen forms of entertainment that makes this look like a folk dance"

...

Merris: "He commands not just a space ship, Pro Council, but a star ship, a very special vessel and crew"

Although Kirk probably does not thinks himself special, part of his strength.
