Weak candidates will hurt Republican hopes in midterm elections
By nominating more nuts than a sack of trail mix, the Republicans are making their task of winning much harder

Meet the 2010 model of Republican politicians running for office in November's elections:

• A candidate for governor who wants to see Barack Obama's birth certificate

• The Tea Party-backed candidate who thinks a bicycle-sharing scheme is a United Nations plot for world government

• A wannabe senator who made her fortune in professional wrestling

• A religious fundamentalist who thinks waiters get paid too much in tips

1. I do wonder
Sometimes I wonder if the GOP might actually LOSE seats. They have nominated some of the biggest dolts, in some of their stronger areas. Mostly a fantasy on my part, but they do seem to be making an easy job MUCH harder.

3. Alas.
I am on pins and needles in Michigan, wondering if the Libertarian mass idiocy will bring us a vulture capitalist as governor...

4. "bicycle-sharing scheme-Tea Party-backed candidate"
Edited on Fri Aug-13-10 12:56 PM by Froward69
not so weak.

he polls consistently higher than Bennet(D-CO) the incumbent Senator. Sadly Bennet is not the GREAT Dem the "establishment" touts.

I will hold my nose and vote for Bennet. but when/if he loses I will yell from the mountaintops That "We missed our chance with Romanoff... I told you so!"

As Romanoff(D) consistently polled higher than Buck(R)!!

Bennet(D) never has polled higher than ANY republican challenger, Buck OR Norton.

Holding Colorado's Senate seat Democratic... is in trouble/doubt at this point. (seriously)

6. Yeah
People are so angry they only dumped 2% of the incumbents so far. Remember, for the most part, people only want to replace OTHER incumbents, not theirs.

10. Yeah I do.....I live in Phoenix, AZ......and I hear this..........
"Pelosi is crazy!!" "Bachmann is bat-shit insane!!"

Everything except, "I'm not voting for McCain."

I would love for J.D. Hayworth, the crazy r, to get the republican primary nod, because our Democratic candidate(whichever one of the 4 it will be) will wipe up the floor with him. But it's going to be McCain, the incumbent, and I live in a bat-shit crazy state.

Once again, when it's not their incumbent, they want them gone.

7. I'm almost giddy waiting for the Democratic campaign-proper to begin
It's going to be FUN!

The "crazy" demonstrated by these teabagger candidates is all recorded on video.

More to come I'm sure, just wait until the teabagger town-halls start happening.
