Kaiser poll: Health care reform support reaches new high
Kaiser poll: Health care reform support reaches new high

Americans view Democrats’ signature health reform bill more positively now than at any point since it was signed into law, a new poll found Thursday.

50 percent of the public say they view the new healthcare law favorably, according to a Kaiser Family Foundation poll that has been tracking public opinion about the legislation since it became law.

35 percent of adults said they view the law unfavorably, while 14 percent had no opinion.

1. I am a little surprised at how fast
this is turning around. Good sign for the future.

6. Public Option
The public option is inevitable. The only question is 'when.'

2. Wow, just think how much support there will be when
repugs take over and kill the bill. 'Wrongway Repugs" strike again.

3. They could get about half of that 35%
by putting through the House Public Option bill.

4. I have a hard time believing that only 17% would be opposed
if we had a public option in the bill.

8. Well that was the result of the latest Jackpine Poll.
Anyway, it's not just 17%. Half of the No Opinion types won't like it either, mostly because they think it has something to do with sexual permissiveness: "What's this Pubic Option I keep hearing about?"

5. And just think what will happen when more of the provisions kick in.
Republicans won't be able to touch this thing in a couple of years for fear of getting burned. That's what happened with Social Security and it's going to be what happens with this.

7. Wait until all the provisions actually kick in

and people figure out that their access to care is still controlled by the same crooks that are running the show today and it is still going to cost them more than they can afford.

9. That's exactly what I was thinking.
You get your choice between a $750 fine and a $2500 deductible.

11. My experience has been that most people in favor of the bill
don't know what's in it.

When they learn more about the details, their support drops.
