Paul McCartney: "I like Obama...and he's right to have a go at us for polluting his country."
THE shocking images of oil-covered wildlife and ruined beaches across the Gulf of Mexico have horrified millions.

But passionate green campaigner Sir Paul McCartney believes the environmental disaster may have a silver lining, with the search for clean, renewable energy now being pushed forward.

The Beatles legend said: "Sadly we need disasters like this to show people. Some people don't believe in climate warming - like those who don't believe there was a Holocaust.

"But the facts indicate that there's something going on and we've got to be aware of it if we want our kids to inherit a decent world, not a complete nightmare of a planet - clean, renewable energy is for starters."

1. The right wingers will immediately diss him
They love Rush and Glenn Beck too much to listen to Sir Paul fof an instant. I can hear my right wing niece's voice echoing in in my ears

2. I doubt he has many nutter fans to begin with
Remember how Boner reacted when he (correctly) implied that Bush is a dimwit?

3. That's a really interesting interview - thanks for posting it
I probably would never have come across it. Lots of interesting stuff on his activism. And some cool stuff on John.

4. I wish he would have stated that a little differently.
I know McCartney's heart is in the right place here, but saying that President Obama is having "a go at us" just buys into the ridiculous notion that BP=Great Britain. I don't know anyone who is pissed off at the British people over BP's mess, despite what that British CEO assclown said last week. Our anger has nothing to do with the British people, except for those bearing responsibility for this disaster.

11. Not to mention Obama hasn't "had a go" at anybody
apart from a sharp statement or two, he hasn't done much of anything. He's the most disappointing president of my lifetime. Carter tried hard, Clinton was competent for the most part, and I expected nothing from the Republicans and got it. But Obama has completely abdicated his presidential responsibility in this crisis. I wish he'd go ahead and resign and let us see what Biden can do.
