The REAL McChrystal story

(snip)
The real story here is so very much bigger than whether or not Asshat McChrystal is going to be fired for criticizing the President. I have found at least eight -- EIGHT! -- examples of more important stories, below the fold.

1. McChrystal echoed Bush's "mission accomplished" PR stunt and claimed a few days later, on the record, that military operations in Iraq were over.

2. McChrystal either condoned or failed to stop detainee abuse and torture at Camp Nama in Iraq when he was charged with its oversight.

3. McChrystal was instrumental in the Pat Tillman cover-up. Shortly after Tillman's death, he wrote a memo recommending against divulging the findings of internal investigations that showed Tillman's death was due to friendly fire. Why? Because, as Rolling Stone printed, those findings would cause "public embarrassment" for Bush. As RS also notes, "Nine days after Tillman's death, McChrystal was promoted to Major General."

2. The media is once again reducing the story to politics. Ignore the facts

just talk about the political game.

All we know from the media is that McChrystal trashed talked and oooh he may be fired.

Nothing about the counter intelligence issue, nothing about nothing, just politics.

3. So little actualy information in the Corporate M$M. Crazy, and yet it successfully hides
in plain sight.

More than that, as with Saddam's connection to 9/11, the idea of a Liberal Media is 100% false, yet I guarantee you a poll in this Empire would have the subjects refering 2-1 or more that the M$M is liberal.

The Bushpublicans have learned the lessons of Goebbels well, and advanced them successfully for so long now with little opposition from the Democratic Leadership to notice it, let alone counter it.

Plausible Deniability - as our Corporate Dialogue and Corporate Newspeak give us content-free and context-free "news" - it can still fool anyone drawn into it's self-referential circle and fusion with the RW Lie Machine.

Amazing. I have learned things by observing the excellent, subtle, successful and almost sublime in it's mendacity (and plausible deniability) this vast propaganda enterprise that I never wanted to know.

But there it is - in every day and in every way.
