Al Gore's Moveon Speech of 5-26
Wow...I had missed this, so read it on Truthout's site...truly an amazing speech...how sad to be in a world where the media can ignore a speech this powerful by the true President of the United States...

1. It hasn't been entirely ignored
It was on CSPAN yesterday and is archived there now. It's archived on CNN. A snippet was on the local news and the CBS news last night.

Not the coverage I'd like, of course, but bigger than nothing.

3. It isnt being ignored ....
Though it IS being twisted into a 'crazy speech' by the Neocon supplicants in the GOP ....

Tell ya what ? .... EVERY supporter of Bush, knowing what we know: is complicit in his treason .....

The GOP has brought stain and dishonor to our nation, and its time to sweep the halls of congress CLEAN from this stain ....

VOTE THE BASTARDS OUT ....

Gore was outstanding, and the country knows he is right ....

5. Exactly
Gore was outstanding, and the country knows he is right ....

I think you're 100% right about that. Nothing is working for the Bush bastards anymore. It's like flop-sweat. Whatever they do backfires. I even heard the local news last night speculate that the recent terra warnings might be politically motivated. Can you in your wildest dreams imagine that happening a year ago? Bush is oozing the stink of a loser.

2. I've seen coverage in a lot of places
It was on CBS and ABC last night (I did not get to check NBC). CNN has talked about it as has MS "want to be fox" NBC. It's also in a lot of newspapers. It even got in USA Today (http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/president/2004-05-26-gore-speech_x.htm).

Let's hope more coverage comes of this.

6. Glad I was wrong about the media ignoring this then!
Thanks for letting me know that the media has indeed hit on this speech! I'm not a watcher of the major networks, so I guess I 'assumed' (and yes I know what that stands for) that they would completely ignore Gore's speech like they have in the past...

Perhaps this lumbering corporate giant that is the 4th estate is finally waking up a bit!

8. The Repuke response:
The Republican National Committee shot back at Gore, pointing out that while he was vice president terrorists attacked U.S. embassies in Africa, bombed the USS Cole and carried out the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

"Al Gore's attacks on the president today demonstrate that he either does not understand the threat of global terror or he has amnesia," RNC spokesman Jim Dyke said in a statement.

:wtf:
Gore wasn't criticizing the Bushies for what the terrorists have done -- he was excoriating them for their disastrous policies that are inciting terrorism and destroying our nation's moral authority.

If the R's feel compelled to counterattack, at least they could try saying something related to Gore's speech.

9. Gore's set of speeches have been dead-center; the one on the
environment was inspiring, but this is the speech of a lifetime. Who has more right to call this cabal to account than the man who should be president and would be except for Katherine Harris and Jeb Bush? Except for Winston Churchill I have not heard better orations than Gore's because he is talking from his heart with nothing to gain except removal of the fools/cheaters/numbskulls/etc.
