Excerpt:

With violent resistance to the U.S.-led occupation showing no signs of ending, Perle said the biggest mistake in post-war policy "was the failure to turn Iraq back to the Iraqis more or less immediately.

"We didn't have to find ourselves in the role of occupier. We could have made the transition that is going to be made at the end of June more or less immediately," he told BBC radio, referring to the U.S. and British plan to transfer political authority in Iraq to an interim government on June 30.

3. He's being consistent, actually.
He still thinks that if only we had installed his buddy Chalabi immediately after the invasion ... as the neocons had planned ... all would now be well.

Of course he's stark, staring mad.

6. Perle denies that in the current Newsweek
Says that anyone the US had installed wouldn't have been accepted.

Kristol has already said that Bush has run the country into the ditch, without mentioning the fact that the ditch was dug by PNACers himself included. Now Perle is dissing the administration too. Who's next?

5. "We could have made the transition .... more or less immediately"
Perle's grasp on reality seems to be even more tenuous than I thought.
