Tea bagger sign: "We vote with bullets"..when you have no legitimate argument fall back on violence.
http://rawstory.com/rs/2010/0416/we-vote-with-bullets-tea-party/

TALLAHASSEE -- Passions were ablaze at a Tax Day Tea Party event held on the steps of the old Florida Capitol, with protesters holding signs that read, "We vote with bullets," "Fire Congress," "9/11 was an Inside Job" and "Return to the Constitution."

The Tea Party movement proclaims it isn't racist, but there were less than half a dozen black people in the crowd, a head count that supports the recent CNN/Opinion Research Poll finding that only two percent of the Tea Party activists were African-American.

Organized by the local Fox News radio station, it drew a few hundred people who listened to a taped speech from Glenn Beck and to various Republican and right-wing Christian leaders talk about taking back the federal government, living according to the U.S. Constitution and returning the nation to the "path of Godly virtues."

17. Mendacity of Repubs, & "former Repubs in Constitutional garb"
37% Said they are college grads, compared to 25% avg. U.S. pop.
33% Attended "some college"...

and:

47% get info about the Tea Party from television
64% believe Obama's admin. has increased taxes for majority
66% doubt global warming
66% favorably view Palin
82% see illegal immigration as serious problem

Palin was skewered by Katie Couric for not reading (newspapers OR books), Republicans and "former Republicans," are quite aware that the public in general do not view them, or their representatives, as having the educational bona fides to back up their claims and complaints regarding the new "regime," and the Change(s) that are ensuing.

Apparently some percentage- this is the number I covet (I guess about 15- 20%, arrived at by haruspex & some very-involved metrics), as does anyone who really knows these folk- "stretched" the truth a tad.

Unless Bob Jones University degrees count.

4. Just to be clear, there's no pic of that sign right?
I kept looking at the pictures and didn't see it but maybe I missed it. And yes, I believe the sign exists, I'd just like to have the pic to show on TYT.

10. When the hell were we ever ON the path to 'Godly virtues'?
Was it when we allowed the buying and selling of other human beings?
Was it when we sent children down into coal mines to work sixteen hours a day for 27 cents on the dollar?
Was it when we were beating up labor organizers who were trying to get a fair day's pay for a day's work?
Was it when we resisted giving women the vote?
Was it when we lynched black people for the crime of trying to vote?
Was it when we engineered the overthrow of democratically elected national leaders because we didn't like their politics?
Was it when we forged an alliance with an entire nation of murderous religious fanatics just so we could buy cheap oil from them?
Was it when we invaded country after country that was no threat to us because we didn't like their politics, or wanted their oil cheaper than they were willing to sell it to us, or because we needed to keep the war industries profitable?

I'm not seeing the Godly virtues anywhere in our history...

You forgot to point out how we forced the natives to adopt our religion. We also committed genocide on the native inhabitants for hundreds of years and often in the name of God.

24. And one must ask -- if they truly believe that abortion is so very wrong
Edited on Sun Apr-18-10 02:50 AM by truedelphi
Then why do so many RW industrialists have such wretched chemicals in the air for the workers to inhale 24/7?

Women who work for the major RW industrialists often cannot conceive. (Or think they can't.) Doesn't matter if they work at a paper mill, or in semiconductor "clean rooms," their bodies are reacting in strange and modern ways to their workplace environments. When they get fertility counseling, they are often told that "Actually you probably have been conceiving, but the toxins at your place of work are such that your body is not holding on to the pregnancy to the point when you would realize you had conceived."

So allowing ruthless unsafe and hazardous workplaces that cause miscarriage is fine - after all, Big Bucks are at stake. But if some 16 year old kid in the ghetto seeks an abortion - why, heaven help us, she should bear the product of her sin.

23. All free democracies require a loyal opposition.
Just because your side can't win a free & fair election, doesn't mean it's reasonable to take up arms against the govt - or threaten to.

If that's the path you choose, you can no longer claim to be a patriot. It means you're a terrorist.

26. Huh?
So just lemme figure this out here..."Fire congress," whoever is out of power alwaws wants to do that. And if "9/11 was an inside job," I assume that signholder to be blaming George II, under whose term it occured. "We vote with bullets," ok, that's a threat, and is bad whichever side says it. It's hard to say this without sounding like I am siding with them, but if dissent has been "patriotic" for the last 230+ years, why is it suddenly an aberration? Given the unadulterated hate speach directed at W., why is anyone who dares to disagree with our current president automatically in the wrong? I don't agree with a good deal of what the T.E.A. folks have to say, or with the folks who burned Dubya in effigy in the streets, but as long as they protest peacfully, I say they have every right to have their say and I say let them be. Modern conservatism is rooted in complacency, and thus they'll eventually get bored and go back to work...and thus will be taxed more than they want to anyway simply by being productive citizens.
