Biden: "Washington right now is broken.."

Feb 17, 7:45 AM (ET)

WASHINGTON (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden says "Washington right now is broken" and the country is in "deep trouble" unless it attacks ballooning federal deficits.

Asked about the political climate across the country, Biden said in a nationally broadcast interview that "we understand why they're angry. ... We get it."

Speaking of intense partisanship in the capital, Biden said on CBS's "The Early Show" that "I've never seen it this dysfunctional." He said the message coming from the stunning Republican upset in the recent Massachusetts election was, 'Hey guys, get your act together. Get something going.'"

2. yeah, maybe Joe 'gets it' now-but still I hear only a few lone

3. Joe, only the conservatives are concerned about the deficit right now
The rest of us (like 70%) are more worried about jobs, inflation, foreclosures, real HCR, holding the big banks responsible for this crisis so it wont happen again, and ending the wage stagnation anyone outside of DC has suffered with since 2000.

Sadly your talking about the deficit shows that neither you nor the administration have a clue what anyone except the conservatives are worried about.

5. They are finally starting to realize
This is not "business as usual" We the people are seeing things that have been done in the past.We have the net,24/7 coverage, and enough people that want to hold them accountable ,that they are worried!
